Jazz Musician Kenny Burrell's Tribute Booklet

Legendary Jazz Guitarist Kenny Burrell’s 75th Birthday Concert in UCLA's Royce Hall.

This won an award!  3rd Place, Printing Industry of America Premiere Print Award (Benny), for "booklet with 4 or more colors." Printed by Marina Graphics.

I had the honor of designing a tribute booklet for legendary Jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell's 75th birthday concert at UCLA's Royce Hall.  Representing his prolific amount of music and accomplishments, starting from the fifties.   It was no easy task!   

The cover was a vinyl record. The record was embossed so you could feel the grooves.  Then it had a spot glossy overlay, so the record would shine.  There was a real hole punched in the middle of the record.  The lettering was done in silver foil.  And at the center was a great picture of Kenny that exuded his warmth and charm.
